Chairman, CEO and founder of Future Horizons
Established in April 1989, Malcolm Penn is the Chairman, CEO and founder of Future Horizons, one of the world’s top global semiconductor industry analysts and consultants.
He is also the President of Future Horizons' Moscow-based subsidiary, East-West Electronics, the world’s top market research consultant on the Russian and East European electronics industry.
Mr Penn has over 50 years experience covering all aspects of the semiconductor and electronics industry, including new business development, management, manufacturing, marketing and design.
His prior experience included Vice President and Director of European Operations for Dataquest (now Gartner); Manager of Component Engineering for ITT Europe (now Alcatel) and held various operations, marketing and management positions with ITT Semiconductors (now Micronas and General Signal).
He started his career in electronics as a systems design engineer specialising in the design and development of electronic measurement instrumentation having graduated in 1966 with an honours degree in Electronic Engineering from London Southbank University during which time he worked his way through college as a professional blues and jazz musician.
